As a result, I really didn't have a good sense as to how well the band was playing that year until a few good friends got me hooked on several shows from 1982. The more I dug into the 1982 shows, the more I realized that the Dead and Jerry were at the top of their game that year. This soundboard recording from March 7, 1982, 44 years ago today, from San Jose, is the perfect introduction to a very under rated year in the long strange trip of the Jerry Garcia Band.
