Yes Golvid was originally her slave when they were apprentices. After a while and some mysterious events, she'd team up with Azimuth as close partners (and she would indeed get very swole). Puca would take Golvid's place after these events

They all look similar to each other as an allegory to losing your own identity.
Though I had some ideas that maybe very powerful witches would become special stains based on the deadly sins. I might share a concept about them in the future!

Yes there's a limit! Each time a witch evolves, the process can be too overwhelming. This can cause a witch to become a Stain (the weird blobs of flesh with eyes). The more she mutates with magic, the higher the chance to finish like this...
