The arranged marriage dream. Not all can have this, despite many wanting it.

world-altering decisions are being made by a cabal of gambling addicts hell bent on self enrichment no matter the cost to humanity, we should look into that.

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves.
Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone.
That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins.
If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after.

I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.

Evan nails it here. Committing to being an independent journalist is a fundamentally hopeful position that we can build something new from billionaires’ scorched earth, having no idea if it will actually work.

Viral phenomenon in Argentina has young people identifying themselves as animals Argentine teens are gathering in Buenos Aires parks to dress and act like non-human animals. The so-called “therian” trend is exploding online with Argentina leading all other Latin American countries in engagement.

Photo of some sliced grilled chicken or maybe a pork loin on a shiny black plate backed by a gingham tablecloth. It's poorly lit and even more poorly plated, making the photo feel more like evidence than a usable stock asset

A bunch of green grapes in a black void, with a sickly monochrome cast and shallow focus reminiscent of a glass-plate photograph from the Civil War

Rows of green apples propped up like you might see on display at the store, unless I'm way off and this is a close-up photo of an ear of corn with the white balance a little off. Either way it does not look very appealing

In other words, without civ 5 I have almost nothing left. I barely know myself anymore. But in this scared, empty state, I think I will find new ways of being happy, new knowledge, more time, and a golden age (a concept from civ 5) will dawn for me. Thank you and you're welcome.

I will adventure out into this unknown territory and change my phone settings, I will endure the attacks from the blundering elephant and the foolish donkey (an analogy for the right and the left), and I will help change the world for the better, one small action at a time.

But the world needs brave people like me, who are not afraid of being called a millennial wine mom, despite having quit drinking in 2023 and being cool and hot and hip with the times. I alone am a wolf blazing this trail, helping birth the world you all want to live in. You’re my pups.

But the hard truth is, this cringeless trying-is-cool world we all feel growing around us is still in its infancy. The old world clings on, and if I were to change my phone settings back to default, so sentences and i’s are capitalized, many will perceive it as old and embarrassing.

Just think about this man here. His earned lowercase is his clothing, walk, purpose and dedication. Through these efforts, he makes this corner of the world better. So if you type in all lowercase or want to, ask yourself why. Make sure you earn it, and make it sure it conveys your goal.

22.02.2026 04:40 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

But if trying is cool, wouldn't it be cool to change phone settings to all lowercase to cultivate a vibe? It's on the right path, but it is not enough. You must further justify all lowercase with clothing, taste and purpose. Otherwise, it only paints a picture of low effort. But we want dedication.

then again... woke is back, trying is back, caring is in, cringe has been absolutely beaten to death... so there is a strong argument that even capitalizing on desktop is cool, because trying is cool. I've included a picture taken on Photo Booth to justify my use of lowercase during this tirade.

22.02.2026 04:40 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

your phone settings to try to appear cool, thereby making yourself not cool, because you tried to be cool. if you really don't care, you would never touch those settings. you're allowed to type like this only if you're on desktop, where adding capitalization would take more effort, which isn't cool.

22.02.2026 04:40 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

tomorrow i might change my phone setting back to the default of capitalizing the first words of sentences and capitalizing i. i think the whole i'm-cool-and-i-don't-care vibe that everyone tries to cultivate with lowercase actually conveys an inauthentic and try-hard vibe, bc we all know you changed

to kill my civ 5 addiction, i am strategically filling the time i would normally play civ 5, with civ 5 youtube videos, thereby making myself worse and making it harder to quit

Fear is the revolution killer. If you've been spooked about the Signal stuff and want some *actually* practical information, watch this video.

And share, because the algorithm doesn't like this stuff.

“The U.S. Army brought the leading citizens of Ohrdruf to tour the facility, which turned out to be part of the Buchenwald network of concentration camps. A U.S Army colonel told the German civilians who viewed the scenes that they were to blame. One of the Germans replied that what happened in the camp was 'done by a few people,’ and ‘you cannot blame us all.’ And the American, who could have been any one of our grandfathers, said 'This was done by those that the German people chose to lead them, and all are responsible.'"

"The morning after the tour, the Mayor of Ohrdruf killed himself. And maybe he did not know the full extent of the outrages that were committed in his community, but he knew enough. And we don't know exactly how ICE will use this warehouse. But we know enough. I ask you to consider what the Mayor of Ordruf might have thought before he died. Maybe he felt like a victim. He might have thought 'How is this my fault? I have no jurisdiction over this.' Maybe he would have said, 'This site was not subject to local zoning, what could I do?' But I think, when he reflected on the suffering that occurred at this camp, just outside of town, that those words would have sounded hollow even to him. Because in his heart he knew, as we do, that we are all responsible for what happens in our community.”

A resident named Walter calmly took the mic and recounted an April 9, 1945 newspaper clipping about the liberation of the Ohrdruf concentration camp...
