I’ve read both of his most recent books and he makes good points. However, he definitely has a blind spot when it comes to the role of just pure unadulterated racism in MAGA. He likes to use the term “narcissism” instead. I think he doesn’t want to admit friends and family are so, even to himself.

This happens all the time. The only surprising thing here was he was really bad at the “game” and didn’t keep his mouth shut. But the cavalier attitude just shows how pervasive this is. Academics is a cesspool.
