It’s been lost in the tariff news but the fact that the U.S. government can accuse you of a crime and send you to an El Salvadoran prison without trial, is legitimately scarier than the most hyperbolic claims of fascism made by the left during the election.
There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.
Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

People getting deported for liking anti-Trump tweets would have seemed like a feverish leftist conspiracy theory a few months ago. Now it’s yesterday’s evening news.
Things have detoriorated rapidly.
They’re deporting lawful residents *purely* for their views. No evidence of connection to terrorism. Just their views.
No matter what your view is on Israel or the war, this is a disaster for rule of law. Nor does it make Jews safer. Quite the opposite. Jews rarely do well in authoritarian states.
We should all be terrified to live in an America where legal residents can be detained, held at gunpoint, or deported because of the color of their skin or because the President disagrees with their views.
