Oh yeah. I think we did it a few months ago when they started saying about Vietnam. A x

Another excellent episode by the @quietriotpod.bsky.social team.
UK economy, Iran and more. Also the most glorious opening.
Particularly liked @sturdyalex.bsky.social βs take on why Starmerβs response to Trump was the right one.
Not when it comes to "carousel" ads - basically allocated from a pick'n'mix bag in a foreign territory. Only broad levers like blocking all "entertainment". In any case, I find it rather delicious that Fox wants to pay us some money, to advertise to people who will never, ever, ever tune into it. A
No, but it does mean it's unreliable and spun in the most damaging way possible. A x
I think there is huge value to the actual plan, but I appreciate this further value. A x

A comically misspelt hot take from the Reform pamphlet that the Telegraph has become? Nah. A x
Game recognises Game!
Apart from Quentin Letts @mrhenrymorris.substack.com is my favourite go-to for superlative comedic writing!
Should be no surpise as Henry
is a @quietriotpod.bsky.social regular after all!
Who will rid us of this flatulent beast?
β‘ NEW: It Never Rains...
Reeves (and the rest of the world) tries to plot an economic course, while Trump tries to blow her (and the rest of the world) off it.
When chaos reigns is there any point to having a plan?

"We called London a war zone and moved to Dubai by mistake"
Since we released this itβs been, strangely, still relevant. Perhaps because of the lack of strategy from the US and Israel.
A reminder: Matt Goodwin lost heavily in spite of an almost total lack of tactical voting, not because of it.
The combined Green/Labour vote was 66%, versus 28.7% for Reform.
If Labour and the Greens split the vote 50/50 β a total coordination fail β he'd have finished third, not second.

If youβre feeling as concerned as I am about domestic and international politics, I recommend subscribing to this fabulous podcast @quietriotpod.bsky.social
It is a rare show that manages to bring the political temperature down without dumbing down, and is a tonic in the current political climate.
So it was to preempt Israel's attack? A
Tip-top listening recommendation!
βI am one of the last holdouts when it comes to insisting on giving the government credit when it does things wellβ¦ But I just thought Starmer's reaction the next morning was catastrophic. If I had scripted it to go worse, it couldn't.β @sturdyalex.bsky.social π
One of the best foreign policy podcasts around - do subscribe if you want proper insight from experts rather than just political commentators about what's happening in the world and how it might affect us.
As Charlie said, for the Islamic Republic, βsurvival is victoryβ.
Superb and timely. This is what experts - rather than pundits - can bring to the table.

βThe message Labour activists have been getting consistently from voters on the doorstep is, 'we don't know what you stand for anymore'. For Starmer to respond with, essentially, 'I'm going to stand for nothing even more resolutely', seems quite an extraordinary act of denial.β

Awww lovely lovely @quietriotpod.bsky.social doing its stuff! Thankyou... Always the very best counterbalance of the week. I save you for my Sunday morning yomp!!

Worth a listen with a nice cup of your favourite brew.
This QR podcast today was a healthy exercise in helping listeners through some good critical thinking needed, particularly on G&D. Alexβs humour was a plus even with a few βfβsπ . The CTA for bravery & needing to knock something radical out the park by those currently in charge gets a yes from me.
