Fantastic to join Friends of Iffley Village last night for a public meeting on the new Side Road Entry Treatment at Upper Iffley Turn.

I’m glad that changes are planned to the junction with more expected following a Road Safety Audit. I will keep pushing for adjustments.

What future for Donnington Bridge? - BBC Sounds Built in 1962 it's one of Oxford's major Thames crossing points.

Earlier this week I spoke to BBC Radio Oxford about the urgent need for certainty on the future of Donnington Bridge and restoration of the No 46 bus across it.

The County Council is responsible for maintaining Oxfordshire’s bridges as the Highways Authority. That is why I am asking them for clarity about funding.

The County has a lot of discretion about its capital programme and seems to be happy to spend lots on cost overruns its big road projects.

Good to meet this afternoon with concerned residents regarding pedestrian safety on the Thames Towpath.

The limited proposed signage by the County Council does not go far enough. We need to be looking at path widths, tactile surfaces and clearer sight lines to improve safety.

County Council engineers have confirmed that Donnington Bridge needs reinforcing or replacing.

I had written to Cllr Andrew Gant asking for urgent reassurances that the County will do whatever is needed and fund a full timetable bus service across it - we can’t wait any longer.
