I wrote about Graham Platner, selective outrage, and the predictable consequences of the bipartisan belief that a keffiyeh is more antisemitic than a Totenkopf.

Oh, that's another thing about him that is scary & isn't getting much discussion -- comments that he's made shrugging off the problem of sexual harassment and sexual assault in the military. And his apparent belief that women lie about it frequently.

The fact that we *know* that it's a lie and that he has known for at least 6 years that he has a Nazi tattoo and has joked about it to friends and online just makes everything so much worse.

Exactly. If you're simultaneously claiming to be a scholar of military history and saying that you only found out recently that you've been walking around with a Nazi symbol tattooed on your body, that being true should be enough to disqualify you from being a US Senator.

This is what absolutely dumbfounds me with Platner & his campaign people. The indignant tone -- as if it's outrageous for anyone to question his version of events or the sincerity of his excuses.

Yeah, nobody should be making that claim unless they can show some solid examples of what he's done & when. I can understand people not being wild about the prospect of Janet Mills, but there are other people running. Why on *earth* are people defending this toxic dude?

The fucking Totenkopf isn't a "little" symbol, you absolute tool.

*And* that his first reaction to the controversy was to be offended that people would question his sincerity and resist even getting it covered up at all. The man is a screaming neon red flag.
