Thank you Stephanie!
Thank you Stephanie!
Delighted to say that Iβm joining Birmingham City University next month as a full time Lecturer in Filmmaking. Today Iβve been getting a little head start with a cheeky campus visit.
Bring on Birmingham and working with some future and developing filmmakers.
Old but gold π
Beyond honoured to be asked to speak at We Have Ways Fest 2025. And amongst some absolutely incredible company!
When youβre co-writing a book about Mission Impossible, itβs only fair to see the new instalment with your writing partner! So @ericanela.bsky.social and her lovely husband left their native Nailsea and @amyclarke83.bsky.social and myself left London, to meet in the middle at Oxford.
I keep forgetting Bluesky exists. Is there a better way to remember and interact with others on here?
In F1 chatβ¦how has Helmut Marko still got a job with Red Bull Racing?
Now the season is going again, loving @dirtysidepod.bsky.social. Great racing chat.
But just for Brian, here is David Coulthard hiding his Scottishnessβ¦
Does anybody have advice as to how to remember Bluesky? Moving from the other app to here has done something to my brain where I literally forget about this app and posting on it. But when Iβm here I enjoy it.
Just a reminder its ALWAYS a good time to rewatch Band of Brothers.
At this point Drive To Survive is so fabricated with out of sequence editing, misleading narratives and staged discussion scenes, itβs less F1 documentary and more Keeping Up With The Car-dashians.
True. It also protects him if he gets over keen being near the front for the first time and gets caught up in some first corner drama. βA rookie error there sees Liam into the gravelβ
But, heβs been a full time teacher, but he had to take over mid-term because the predecessor was not delivering the syllabus how the school wanted. How far can we stretch this metaphor?
Lawson is one of those outliers. I wouldnβt say heβs a rookie because of having half a season full time plus varied guest drives before that.
Wading into the @dirtysidepod.bsky.social debate. If itβs your first full season of F1 you are a rookie in my own opinion. Youβve not had the day to day of being an F1 driver which includes engineering side, media, improving your car because itβs your car etc etc. Ollie Bearman is 100% a rookie.
In our latest episode, we explore The Hartenstein Hotel, Divisional HQ of the British Airborne. Such an amazing place to look around.
And, as per the clip here, historian James Holland asks the questions that some leaders wouldnβtβ¦

Thanks to Royal Holloway, University of London for having me in to speak at their Creative Industries and Media Week. Such good questions from the students.
Met the resident Careers office cat, so double win!
Week 3 out of 11 of teaching at Birkbeck, University of London complete. What a brilliant experience it has been so far. The students have been really motivated and engaged. Next week they pitch the projects that they will be doing as the final assessment. Excited to see what they bring.
βThe pair are a testament to the power of hard work, with Georgia fighting her way up from the mean streets of a Β£23,000 per year private school and her future husband from an impoverished family with a net worth of Β£12mβ @heraldscotland.bsky.social nailing James Watt and Georgia Toffoloβs privilege
So glad to hear that @dirtysidepod.bsky.social are as annoyed by Big Brother Mohammed Ben Sulayem and his dictatorial rules as I am. #F1
It will be mentioned in the Prologue along with the 1980s two season revival. And the later movies will get a light nod in the Epilogue.
Thanks to the brilliant @ericanela.bsky.social, I've joined her as co-author of the book 'The Making of Mission Impossible' (working title) with Pen and Sword Books. Hardback out in 2026 ready to celebrate 30 years since the first film hit cinemas.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to co-write a book about a 1996 film that kicked off a franchise that ran for 3 decades. If you or your co-writer are captured or suffer writers block, the Publisher will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This post will self destruct in 5 seconds
Yes! My wife and I love a retro choc-sweet. Although Munchies rank a place higher on the list.
My officeβ¦my classroom.
Someone did sort the chairs out before the students arrived.
Remember when you had a Nokia and how little you had to charge it? Iβm pretty sure I have a 3210 thatβs been left powered up in a drawer since 2002 which still has around 52% battery left.
I'm going to miss my daily dose of after work Squid Game. Who doesn't like their dinner with a side order of sweaty palms and tension??
Last year I worked hard to pivot the paid part of my career as a content producer into writing and teaching. And this year has started strong...I'm now Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London, and I'm just waiting on the contract for my first non-fiction book deal.
