The next No Kings is March 28th.
March against war. March for impeachment. March to Abolish ICE. March for universal healthcare. March for trans rights.
Whatever you want on your sign, we can all come together and give a real clear data point on what needs to happen in this country.
this is somehow real www.costcoconnection.com/march_2026/p...
Shouldnβt be too hard to find a personal injera lawyer who will take the case.

Her father fled China because he organized student protests during Tiananmen. He was a political refugee. The story of this family, and Alysa Liu, would have played out very differently today. This is what we're losing. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/19/w...
βHi, Iβm Winter Olympics gold medalist Alysa Liu. Before I brought gold to the Bay Area, BART was always there for me to take me training at the ice rink and to see family and friends. [why transit good] This November, register to vote and vote YES on Measure XX. Letβs bring gold for our transit.β
Hemingway was once bet that he couldnβt write the worldβs happiest short story in just 5 words. He replied,
The number of times @alfredtwu.com has quietly and with insufficient recognition saved 100s of people many hours of time by summarizing complex information is too numerous to count. Alfred, I see you, and thank you so much for your dedication to clarify the often messy/poor organization of politics.

In reporting on what is otherwise good news for BART, the Chronicle couldn't help today but to throw cold water on things and sensationalize the agency's financial woes once more. buff.ly/k3NMejt

404 media: After googling βsmallest TV markets in the United States,β we came across KYOU, which serves the city of Ottumwa, Iowa: population ~25,000. There were other options, but we thought we would try Ottumwa and see if anyone responded or if this seemed like a foolβs errand. We emailed KYOU to see if we could buy a Super Bowl ad, and we got an immediate answer: There was one slot left, and it would cost $2,550. They also had a slot immediately after the game for $1,250, one during the Olympics following the game for $500, or pregame slots for $500. It felt important to have the ad actually run during the game, so we paid the $2,550 in-game slot.

Man, if BART ceased operations, I would literally consider leaving the Bay.
So much of my QoL is based around BART existing.
If you see people gathering signatures, sign the petition! And vote yes this November to save transit! It's gotta happen!
the cost curve for BART service cuts is just absolutely brutal. Under any scenario, most of the savings from deep service cuts are just immediately cancelled out by reduced revenue because people stop riding
it's really bleak. come help prevent this! luma.com/connectbayarea
STOP talking shit about California Ballot Initiatives:

It's very hard to imagine this wasn't a policy decision - both to start enforcing and then to stop.
The agency says it's hard to cite drivers parking in the bike lane, but did it suddenly become harder in March 2025? No.

Okay please forgive me, I kind of imagined what you were reacting to based on what I had seen and I could not fathom housing x immigration takes as dumb as the ones you were exposed to lol
Like I agree that βThe Current Horrors prove my specific housing policy is correctβ is wrong but thereβs a valid, more general argument, I think
Corollary is that this may be a way to persuade/shame anti-housing homeowners with progressive yard signs into dropping their personal opposition
Heard, but like, a counterpoint: it would actually be great for a CA gov candidate to stand up and explicitly say βwe need to build housing because we will keep [vulnerable population] safe and send people who believe in that to Congressβ and then use that argument to follow through on [policy]
