Not only that -- Tharg and co. over at @2000ad.bsky.social do a pretty good job of using that history when it benefits the story but not getting choked in it when it doesn't!
NEW EPISODE! I talk with director Wes Eastin about his feature documentary on one of our shared passions: the local comic book shop!

Cartoonist John Staton at a signing on June 5, 2013
Earlier this week I found out my friend John Staton had passed away. I hadn't talked to him in years unfortunately but he was a big part of a foundational part of my life. Here's what I wrote over on FB with 2 pics from the June 2013 signing of his EMPOWERED oneshot with @adamwarren.bsky.social.
We're back, baby! I'm joined by Zach Wilkerson, 1/3rd of the DC3Cast, to give you all discussion about AND an audio commentary for the JLU episode "For The Man Who Has Everything".

Happy New Year everybody! We're back from a longer-than-intended hiatus. That X-episode is still in the works but it won't be the episode dropping in Thursday. THAT bad boy has a little something to do with this...
Absolutely blows my mind that Americans have this attitude to work / life. That they put up with hardly any annual leave, being in massive debt for health and education, no paid maternity leave. Greatest land in the World though... for employers.
Aaaaaaand quick update: tryptophan-incuded delay on today's episode. Should be up tomorrow.
An episode card for a look at the first four issues of CLASSIC X-MEN, using the Art Adams team shot from the CXM 1 frontispiece.
A little teaser for tomorrow's episode....
NEW EPISODE! I got a chance to chat with cartoonist Stan Sakai at Baltimore Comicon this year about his career and the samurai rabbit at the center of it (and a little bit about the OTHER rabbit too!)
NEW EPISODE! Veteran comic book letterers Rick Parker, John Workman, and @knowlan.bsky.social, and coloring guru Steve Oliff share their experiences and techniques as cartoonists working in the specific art of lettering.
Speeding might be my fave of those three. And that's saying something considered how much of a JLGL fan I am!
Curious to see your list! Lots of surprising gens to be found in the Supes Elseworlds!
The triumphant return of Last War in Albion, featuring the somewhat less triumphant Image Comics work of Alan Moore. www.eruditorumpress.com/blog/chapter...
New Episode! Cartoonists @zoethorogood.bsky.social, Jeff Smith, @mouseguard.bsky.social, and Stan Sakai talk at Baltimore Comicon about the tools they use in bringing their Eisner-certified comic book goodness to the page. (Yep - this is the panel @cbccpodcast.bsky.social was at!)
TOOLS OF THE TRADE panel from BCC 2025: (l to r) David Petersen, Stan Sakai, Zoe Thorogood, and Jeff Smith)
Here's a hint which panel from Baltimore Comicon is tomorrow's episode (pic courtesy of CBCC Brad)...
Quick Programming Note: no episode this week, as instead of prepping for Baltimore Comicon, we're recovering from it. BUT we will be back next Thursday with audio from one of two panels I moderated. Which one could it be????
And Baltimore Day 3 is done as well! Fantastic weekend; thanks to everybody who came out to the panels and helped make them really special. Looking forward to recovering and getting this stuff show-ready ASAP!
Plus I noticed Brad from @cbccpodcast.bsky.social in the audience grabbing some pics, so there are some nice photos of the Eisner-stacked panel over on their feed!

Baltimore Day 2 is now in the can as well! Both panels went great. Audio has been confirmed recorded for the TOOLS panel (always a happy moment!). The SHOPPING one wasn't really episode conducive, but the film is great and we're looking to have Wes on the show to chat about it soon!
