Watchmen triptych WIP. Backgrounds blocked in, page one's basically done. Wrapping page two, still need color pencil, the castle, the Manhattan glass portrait and the bottom section. Page three tomorrow, done by end of day.

Watchmen Commish WIP: Still just testing, not the final. That's tomorrow. Three 11x17 continuous panels, inking's done. Trying to keep Manhattan's blue in that pastel range before everything else starts competing. Confidence is key here lol, just hoping the final beats the comp. 🙏
Warming up and figuring out what I'm doing with the Watchmen backgrounds. Manhattan's marker and color pencil but at this size I can't blast the whole BG in marker. Watercolor's gonna have to do the heavy lifting. Just locking in the palette before I touch the final.

Fun commission even if recoloring the controller and console wasn't exactly a party. Copic, Polychromos, Posca and acrylic pens on Fluid watercolor paper. 12x16. GameCube and controller are 8x8 chonks.

Can confirm. I was in basic training in fall of '98. 19k tanker M1A1 Abrams Fort Knox. We got the word we were going to do desert training for a possible invasion into Iraq. Quite a few people said I didn't sign up for war. White dudes. I replied, "Your job is literally a gun with wheels". Silence.
Main Link’s wrapped, now it’s just the background left. It’s that mix I always end up doing: Copics, color pencil, acrylic pens, all fighting for space. The background’s getting hit with distress ink and a little finish over the acrylic stuff so it all locks in. Should have it knocked out tomorrow.
I’ve always loved the purple GameCube, but my day one pickup was the spicy orange one. That yam‑colored box had a whole attitude to it. You look at consoles now and everything’s black or white and trying to look serious, like office hardware. We need more purple and yam‑colored machines out there.

This is my Link Scribbly commish - All the markers are blocked in with the basic lighting. Most of the highlights are just where the yellow hits and turns into that orange bloom on the surfaces. That used to give me trouble doing it traditionally, but I’ve got it working now. Time for scribbly.

Trying to figure out how to nail that bloom effect or occlusion or whatever we’re calling it. You know when the light hits and it goes orange right there and then it shifts into yellow. Usually I can pick the colors fast but sometimes I’m just sitting here like how do I make this look right??

Depends on which version the controller. There are later versions that have symmetrical ZL ZR buttons even tho the original didn't. And I always wished the original did cause It really would have made Smash Brother feel more like a fighter.
