Remembering Charles I, who on this day chose the scaffold in defending the historic faith and the sacramental life of the Church. "I go from a corruptible to an incorruptible crown." ⚓

Reminder that on this day, Pelagianism was declared a heresy, but still shows up in a surprising number of sermons - proof that some theological errors have very long shelf lives.
Can't wait for #AvengersDoomsday - this movie is gonna be 🔥
I do appreciate her opposition to the assisted suicide legislation. It's even more impressive given her medical background.
This is not Belarus. This is not Venezuela. This is our country.
A masked ICE agent sprayed David Black, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Chicago, directly in the face during protests outside the ICE processing facility in Broadview, Illinois.
Above quote from the Rev. Chas Marks. ⚓
We’ve been reviving this practice in the Diocese of Oklahoma over the past few years. I see it as a very personal act of humility and submitting one’s self to God.

Pete Hegseth: ""The only people who deserve peace are those who are willing to wage war to defend it. That's why pacifism is so naive and dangerous."

Fingers crossed that the pilot is an unrepentant sinner 🤣
Jesus: “Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”
Later: A lawyer stood up to test Jesus.

Hot wax dripping on fingers keeps one from nodding off during the lessons at vigils. Liturgists know what they’re doing :D

A rich and powerful man voluntarily bearing a cross onstage, but adding wheels so it's not remotely difficult, is the perfect picture for our country.
I think what they usually mean is that our polity isn’t ONLY top-down. Laity actually hold a lot of authority (vestries, conventions, standing committees). Bishops still have real authority over clergy and dioceses. More accurate to say we’re a church with shared governance that includes hierarchy.
You’re in a horrible situation. We have churches with no permanent clergy and still admit them with the support of their senior warden. Our diocesan process serves as discernment and they still go thru a meeting with our COM and then decision by the bishop for postulancy.
Well that makes sense - I didn't realize it was ONLY Office lectionary. The weekday propers can be found at Episcopal Common Prayer website, and there are also the options for Eucharistic readings in LFF

Remembering Edward Bouverie Pusey, a leader of the Oxford Movement, who called the Church back to deeper faith, prayer, and sacramental life. The question is whether we will answer that same call in our own time. ⚓
Does it source daily Eucharist lectionary readings? When I tried it for Office it gave me the correct ones but the Eucharist readings were odd (Hebrews and Mark). Could not match those to either LFF or the Weekday Eucharistic Propers.
As children of God, none are beyond compassion. Jesus calls us to love those we hate. Anything less risks echoing the same hatred that took his life.
I am saddened by posts and comments saying they feel no empathy for the murder of Charlie Kirk. It is especially grievous to see these comments coming from clergy. One may decry his politics, but to withhold empathy denies that we are created in the Imago Dei. ⚓
The single best thing we could do to improve kids' health is remove RFK Jr. as Health Secretary
