The situation in #Kyiv remains very complicated.

About 800,000 people have no electricity in their homes as of last night. Those luckier to have electricity only see it for several hours a day (and often, no electricity means no heating and water).

What a lovely night without escalation. As always, when you are Ukrainian.

russia is bombing civilians in Ukraine. The war has been going on since 2014 and greatly intensified in 2022. It gets worse and worse, since russia targets Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. People in Ukraine live under explosions with no electricity, heating and water. The winter is freezing

My friend posted a story today that her parents’ apartment building was hit by a russian drone. I replied with yobana rusnya and hugs. I opened our chat history and last time we spoke she replied to my story that my parents’ apartment building was hit by a russian drone.

I was in Paris recently. Learning German made my French go away. It was a super short business trip and I was exhausted so I didn’t even try refreshing French. I was fine speaking English.

It’s hard for older people to learn languages, especially if they don’t want to. But it’s also ok if she doesn’t speak French. If someone gives you a side-eye, so what? Just learn how to use a translation app with her.

There is a ton of events like carnival or to let off the steam in Berlin. Carnival of cultures, Rave the planet, CSD. Clubs are always open to dance. Every May 1st people fight with the police. And whatever happens in Warschauer Straße and U8 all year long.

So it begins, my least favourite time of the year in Berlin. Hearing fireworks explosions nonstop all afternoon since it’s dark and “anticipating” the chaos that will happen tomorrow. Everything I’ve been told about Germans loving order and quiet was a lie 🙈
