I did their stupid "how should the government encourage AI" survey when it was open to the public, and all my answers were just "stop asking about how to make more money and focus on safety".
A black cat curled up on a cream sweater that is pinned out with blocking pins. He cares not that the sweater is still quite damp. When he gets up, he will smell of wool wash.
My cats are always very involved in my knitting. You can see how helpful Mr Knightley was with the mid-project block of this JΓΆkull sweater earlier this week. #ShowMeYourKnits #Caturday
I am more and more convinced that when cis people want to debate whether trans people get human rights, the only correct response is "I don't treat whether or not people get human rights as a debate topic or hang around people who do" followed by leaving.
I remember how Denise Biellmann was "bad" at figures, and everyone would get super mad because her long program was always so great but she never scored high enough to win. I think about her because now pretty much everyone does her "special" spin that no one else could do back then.
A person standing under a cherry blossom tree wearing a sweater that is the same colour as the blossom
A pink knitted chicken in a cherry blossom tree. The chciken has a hot pink comb and wattle, and some purple stripes on its body
I love a chance to revisit the pinkest things I ever made! #ShowMeYourKnits.
If you don't have to cast on at least 3 times for various reasons, have you really earned the WIP?
Nitro is also their main source of funding btw.
you know what to do
Jeffries would not answer yes to either of those.
I spent years trying to teach at university and was horrible at it because I had no idea how to actually work at learning, so I could not explain to my students how to learn stuff. Now I have a job where my ability to get a shallow level understanding of anything very quickly is an asset.

This girl can get the gist of all of that classic science fiction by reading Among Others by Jo Walton.
This reminds me of the time my mom (a Psych professor) was sitting in a talk by a guy who kept mispronouncing "annals" as "anals". And she just BELLOWED from the back "it's aNNals". It stuck with me as one of the kindest things she ever did. Sometimes you just need to bellow it out.
Some man I saw on socials the other day was all mad because THE FIRST ONE WAS AN ANNULMENT, and apparently that negates anything anyone ever said about the rest of history.
All my students who used your tools were constantly deceived by them because they calculate that an F for not handing in an assignment is a 50% and not a 0, which is honestly hilarious.
That is an absolutely great chicken.
I genuinely feel like this knowledge might be an infohazard. I genuinely feel like this might be the revelation that breaks me.
"Epstein is responsible for /pol/."
You are excellently brave, Jorts.
NYT, never missing an opportunity to be transphobic.
Those ferries are the best place to see harbour seals! Love them.
I have your river otter, and I would love a sea otter companion piece!
A dark indigo scarf shaped in to a circle to show both ends. The scarf is made of garter stitch, but it has some diagonal cabled lines running across it to add texture.
Oh, how serendipitous, my latest finished object is this garter stitch scarf with some icord details. #ShowMeYourKnits. I love the colour - Figue by De Rerum Natura. Pattern is Askell.
I love this! So great that you could see exactly how to add to the piece to make it special.
I like those row counters, but I am doing these gloves on small dpns, and the counter is heavy and keeps falling off when I change needle. I am using lightbulb markers on the crosses instead.
That's a super smart hack! On a bigger chart I like to print them out and then use a mildliner to mark the completed row. Once you learn to "read" your knitting, it gets a bit easier. With cables, putting a lightbulb marker on the last completed twist row can help, too.
I learned a lot about mitten knitting when trying to knit mitts and gloves to fit my kid who has very slim wrists, a wide palm and very very long fingers. Hands have a lot of variation!
White tit with blue and white wings and tail and blue black stripe across eyes and blue stripe on belly, perched on branch, photo.

A small square of cream/white knitting. It has some short black lines in it which look a bit like writing, or striations on a glacier.
Swatch, as foretold! Just casting on for the sweater. #ShowMeYourKnits
A long tapering end of a garter stitch scarf with icord edges. It is a dark indigo in a colourway called β figueβ and it does indeed have a very dark purple bloom
On my needles - so very close to the end of my Askell shawl, and it is on top of the nearly finished blanket. I am hoping there will be a new swatch by the end of the weekend. #ShowMeYourKnits
That one sock is gorgeous! I think you definitely need to persist.
