It’s not a deal if you have to sacrifice everything for a chance at nothing. It’s idiocy. What’s worse, it’s an absolute betrayal of everyone who entrusted you with the power to safeguard the services and fundamental ideals that matter the most.

There’s no bargaining with fascists.

None of us will be safe because of the dangerous, ignorant, petulant actions taken by a person—multiple, really—who should’ve never been put in a position of power.

What we know to be the case in our post-truth, anti-science reality is other red states will unfortunately and inevitability follow suit. When that happens, people will die from entirely preventable diseases and viruses long thought to have been eradicated. Herd immunity will decrease precipitously.
