Rain impeded a much needed walk in NYC to clear my head & grapple with the state of the world-while simultaneously disrupting ongoing procrastination with a difficult stretch of prose in this next project I'm growing. So I accept a lesson from the universe & am posted in coffee shop w/words flowing.

Watching the live C-SPAN booktv, now, Chanda Prescod-Weinstein interviewing Belinda Montgomery, author of "When Trees Testify". Ms Montgomery said, about a 400 to 600 witness tree, "The tree hold the breath of our ancestors."

Unpopular does NOT mean untrue, particularly in this case 👍🏾

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance.

And you know why?

Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

Given how many complied/capitulated in advance, the need to enforce has all but disappeared.

You can’t expect public understanding of science — and things like vaccines — to thrive if you won’t support science communication!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🧪
