elton john is spanish for The Ton John
I'm working on refactoring old code, and ask ChatGPT for the most idiomatic approach, and it's using the code I'm refactoring (in Docker) as reference for "this is the way"; > This is the most widely used pattern in the Go standard library and major projects (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.).
No, AI, you're not very useful if you use MY OWN past choices as reference and "this is the way!".
I joined the HTML Day festivities today and made a lil homage to the <progress> tag: paul.irish/2025-progres...

Age verification? My first game was distributed on paper. Had to manually write the code from a magazine π (definitely lower rate than 2400 baud, and no error correction π)
Cursor's recent pricing fumble underscores why you always overcommunicate pricing changes. It's The Talk of your customer relationship. I've handled pricing shakeups for startups. Always reach out to those who will be impacted the most first so they aren't surprised
I suspect that fact that the vast majority of LLM users donβt seem to have received this (really very simple!) message is because the AI companies have a vested interest in us not understanding it. βChatGPT is smart, it just makes mistakes sometimesβ is much more marketable than the truth.

maintainers have no interest in your production keys
still hoping @github.com to expand their "secret scanning" to beyond just commits, and quarantine tickets/uploads if bad

OLED vs LCD?
MASSIVE good news for trans people in the United States.
A federal judge has just granted class action status to transgender people looking to update their passports.
This means that very shorty, the window will open to update your passports with the correct gender marker.
I told you weβd be back
AOC: When they say illegal vs legal immigrationβthey are trying to end legal status in the US making people undocumented and then they have the audacity to call them illegal when they were here documented.
Interesting; looks like it only happens when signed in, not in an "incognito" windows π€
Screenshot of the GitHub UI of a repository that hides the organisation name, showing just elipses (...)
I love minimal designs, but .. @github.com - this may be taking it a bit "too far" π
Comes with an innie-sleeve!
Screenshot of Slack notifications that notify that a Jira notification was (un)muted in a channel.
Muting notifications is sooooo... noisy ππ
AOC: The girls are fighting arenβt they
They are! "Klavertjes" and "Klavertjevier" (literally "clover four" - Yoda style π) for a lucky clover π nl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klavert...
Dutch clovers are obviously the best! βΊοΈ
(also TIL they're named that over at you π)
Samesies! <3
Your python code is running on a container made with my code π

That's the thing, right? And yes, I know many examples where level of entry was perhaps too low, and really garbage code. But that's not directly the language to blame.
Nobody is forcing you to like a language (well, unless job requires I guess)
I'm not a Python fan, but nobody expects me to!
Can add Janis Ian - one of my heroes
OCD me initially thought it was meant to be an ordered list (A., B.) ππ
