I could write a novel with all the shit they did wrong. But its in the past now.
I hope my mom only feels disappointed when she sees me. I hope she's still praying to that so called God.
I exist out of love, hope and most of all, seething spite for every person who told me I'd fail.
Gender concepts were deeply forced into me. I didn't have a choice.
I later found out my mother had fought my dad for him buying me non gender specific toys.
I just wanted her to be proud of me, to pay attention to me outside of ensuring i cared for my siblings.
What a fucked up way to live.
For me the roots planted by my parents still run deep.
The way of presents, and the way I fight it frequently warps and changes.
Having to pretend to be cis at work doesn't help. I'm also kind of in a lions den so eh is what it is
Like there was definitely signs but I was lead to believe I was doing things wrong, or hadn't found the right way to do it right yet
I guess there's a twisted luck in having taken so long to sort this out. I feel, horrible. . .i shouldn't but still. Survivors guilt at some level of think.
As someone who took till their early 20s to put the pieces together on being nonbinary
There is no wrong time to figure out you have a place under the trans umbrella
We belong, and we will persist like we always have. Until the future is safe for the youth, keep up the good fight.

I do feel a certain amount of guilt. There's a lot of guilt I still carry from lack luster performance in Highschool. I wonder where I'd be if I had done better, ans gotten a better ACT score instead of a measily 19. . . . .
But. My life would be different-
