Gen AI itself is becoming less wasteful, it's waste is due to current compute/model limitations.

LLMs, I believe, will become the mouth pieces of much larger frameworks. Primarily to quickly skim information from large/complex data sets.

So maybe not useful directly, but by proxy.

LLMs are a type of generative AI, generally trained for predictive text.

I can't speak for @lizziegibney.bsky.social, but some items worth mentioning are architectural/algorithmic (MoE, Pruning, Distillation), hardware innovations, and leveraging AI to optimize use of natural resources.
