Them chickens, coming home to roost and such.

Thank you! As always, I'm sure you will provide all the inspiration β₯οΈ

How I started / how I'm going.
(Well. That was an interesting almost-22 years.)
I maintain that Citizens United was the worst blow to the American experiment that anyone could've inflicted.
A drummer approves.
Today is Bandcamp Friday.
Noem is just the most-recent scab that's been picked off the festering lesion that is this administration. And yes, Miller is at the source of a lot of the rot.
Uhhhhh. Be safe.
Increasingly I've noticed that anyone desperately questing to escape death (to be distinguished from medical research to remove suffering from the living) is a sociopath.
Death comes to us all. Those who refuse to become intimate with that reality will use their time most unwisely.
Dang. I need to acquire this.
This, and the music you wrote for Aaron Diehl; tell me that there's a (plan to release a) recording, yes? Please? I offer real Earth money (mostly via Bandcamp).
Hope the regional entropy that we've inflicted on that part of the world isn't complicating things for you.
The cover of Omar El Akkad's book "One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This"
Apropos of nothing, this book stays evergreen.
Big band rehearsal.
The only thing one can say to these folksβ¦
I was disappointed to read Cory Doctorow's post where he got weirdly defensive about his LLM use and started arguing with an imaginary foe.

Faschy AF.
Whenever I see the use of language like "rockstar of <foo>" I immediately think that somewhere in this ecosystem there are people elevating egos to improper heights.
It has become a reliable warning sign.
I read a post from a guy who realized he was 3 hours from giving a talk for which he hadn't prepared, so he had the AI research talking points, construct a narrative & build slides in time for the downbeat.
And he thought that was a brag.
LI is just such a shitshow.
Oooh, thank you for the pointer. I just placed a hold on "The Technological Society" at my local library.
A display at Mumbai's international airport saying "AI-powered payments could need as much energy as about 1.1 million stadiums.", with the subtext reading "our future needs infinite clean energy".
The subtext is not the lesson I would have taken away from the title.
Ironic that the uptick in "agentic"-everything actually results a complete loss/abandonment of actual agency.
I know that thing. And it's precious. And life is constantly throwing us reminders not to take it for granted.
You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.
$DEITY. Yeah I'd heard bits of that story but hooo boy those are some awful people. Glad you smacked back Bryan. I wouldn't have been as generous with the settlement. You're a better man than I.
A street at night in Mumbai, lit only by street (and building) lights. There are 6 stray cats in the frame looking like they own the place.
Mumbai's new overlords. #ThisIsNotAComplaint
Super excited about hanging IRL in a few weeks. We're going to need a whiteboard π.
Tempted. Very tempted.
