I otfered a cider not a spider!
๐ Light + thin, slightly cloudy. off yellow, straw-like colour.
๐ Slightly nutty with lemon notes.
๐
Slightly sharp, but crisp with citrus bite. Mouthfeel is light with some prickle from the bubbles. Pleasantly dry + a good accompaniment for the fillet steak I had for tea (Northern for dinner) 8/10
#nowdrinking Ayrshire Riviera Ciderโs โHowgateโ 6.5% #realcider
This is presumable made using the Howgate Wonder variety of cooking apple which actually originates from the Isle of Wight.
#nowdrinking #ToyesCider โGolden Nobleโ #realcider (5.5%) Its big on sharpness + acidity - something youโd expect from this apple. Itโs a bit too one dimensional for me, but if you like it clean + crisp with lots of green apple skin bite + a grassy finish then seek this one out
Starting the day with โThe Generalโ from #sandfordorchards at #PiccadillyTap #Manchester
Now in #NativeManchester and thought Iโd re-try a #SheppysCider 200โฆ however they only have โclassic draughtโ in bottlesโฆ itโs still mehโฆ
#nowdrinking Susieโs Catch by #RossonWyeCider at #SmithfieldMarketTavern #Manchester where they also have a ยฃ40 bottle of cider from #TheNewt in #Somerset
On the #RossOnWyeCider โVelvet Rainbowโ (6%) #RealCider #Manchesterโs #MarbleArchpub
โPomonaโ is a blend of Michelin, Dabinett, Yarlington Mill and Foxwhelp cider apples which results in flavours of baked apple, hints of spice, some orange-like zestyness and a subtle tannins at the end.
Iโve had this many times before, which must say something about just how good this is! Itโs Tomโs signature Medium Dry #RealCider which is naturally fermented in stainless steel so that the purity of the fruit shows through.
Saturdays are just made for cider arenโt they? Well I think they are! I washed my tea (dinner if your a southerner) down with this from Oliver's of Ocle Pychard, Herefordshire.

Friday 5pm-ish cider time innit! Out of office on! Tonight itโs Oliver's Goldrush #10 a delicious 6.5% collab between Herefordshireโs cider wizard and Ryan Burk from Occam Cider in the states.
Sat in the evening Sun with this Belgian Wild Dry Cider. Itโs 7.5% and has been matured on port wood whisky barrels that were previously used for Lambic.
Remember this? Fraud Squad! "Red Rock Cider... it's not red and there's no rocks in it"...

๐ Dark marmalade+a reddish hue
๐ Really strong funk+earthy, cloves
๐
Bold tannins upfront which mellow to give rounded acidity for balance. Spicy+smokey flavours dominate w/green apple skin in the b/ground. Some residual sugar in the finish but coupled w/good astringency
10/10
A stressful day in the office can only mean one thing, cider oโclock! This is Townsend Farmโs Wild Ferment #3 made with 25% Dabinett from 2023 (Windfalls), 25% Gilly from 2021 and 50% Dabinett from 2024 which were all grown on the their farm in Herefordshire.
Incase you wondered, I got talking and then cider happened so who knows butโฆ what I do know is that I had a Ross-on-Wye, a Haywood, a Temple ad 2x Oliver's including the Shazam and the Dabinett but I forgot if there was out else! Soz bout that!
Next up, #BraysCider Farmhouse Dry (6%) from #Taunton way. Itโs not so dry IMHO. It actually tastes a little sweetened to me. Quite snooth and more of tangy than tannic.
