Donald Duck: Tales of Andold Wild Duck
Quite possibly my favorite opening page to any comic. Ever.
Sometimes people ask me what the big deal is about Jack Kirby. And I show them these two covers for the same story. The one on the left is by Gil Kane and Bernard Sachs, 1956. The one on the right is by Nick Cardy, 1973.
The thing that happened in between? Jack Kirby.
This Hourman by Tony Harris reminds me that Hourman is one of my absolute favorite characters and I would love a solid miniseries
It's been long enough that I think I could put the essay on my Patreon, but proceeds for this go to Doctors Without Borders.
It's put together by smoky man, who also put out the 50th-birthday book back in 2003.

It's incredible! One issue he's dealing with domestic abuse, another issue some bumbling fire monster is teaming up with like a caricature of a 1920s gangster.
And also, I love Gangbuster so much.
I never read it in full off the stands so this is my first time reading it in order. I am in awe of the consistency of quality and level of coordination.
