Once you see this image as a grim American flag you cannot unsee it.

While we agree with Rep. Gerry Pollet, in office since 2011, on some things, including increasing government accountability and transparency, we're not down with Rep. Pollet's efforts to stymie statewide housing reform efforts. Fewer legislators did more to prevent Washington from joining California and Oregon in eliminating single-family-only zoning than Pollet. Rep. Pollet's efforts in helping to cancel protected bike lanes on 35th Avenue NE in Wedgwood are also inexcusable. Also aggravating is Rep. Pollet's stance against high-speed rail in Washington. Add that up and you've got a candidate we could never endorse. From urbanist article
Lest others forget, here are your reminders. Couldnβt agree more with this: βFewer legislators did more to prevent Washington from joining California and Oregon in eliminating single-family-only zoning than Pollet.β Washingtonβs #1 NIMBY. And yes, he is still like this - just talked to him in Jan π
This is like a 'back in high school didn't study for the test' bad dream for a politician.
For all the parts I don't like about it, I think Dungeons & Dragons made a knowing observation by defining Wisdom, Intelligence, and Charisma as three separate things. Always beware of confusing one for the other two.
Oh damn, thereβs cyborg pegging in this movie.
So far, Tetsuo the Iron Man seems to be about, βwhat if you had to talk to a girl?β

My building does a food bank twice a month so the people here have enough to eat.
We could've ended homelessness in Seattle for what a week of this war costs.
Nobody hates living veterans more than Republicans. Dead veterans they can exploit in videos. But living veterans with opinions and medical needs are literally offensive to conservatives.
I don't mean to excuse this, but it was basically the same on Oct 7 with the Biden's State Department.
1. Taxing housing to build housing is bad
2. Tax the rich
3. Design review and nimby-inspired regulations are a tax on housing
4. Renters pay these costs with their rent.
5. Not all βderegulationβ is bad
American Conservatism is about getting pissed when 'United States' is listed alphabetically in the drop down menu.
anti-trans Dems ate shit last night
βI am Cubaβ? More like βI am Amsterdamβ with all those Dutch angles, am I right guys? Am I right?
For Israel & the U.S. to go to war during Ramadan is also a message.
This is financial dysmorphia.
I donβt think itβs insane, itβs the phones. The average person doesnβt rationalize things as statistics, they respond to things they can see and algorithmic video is full of videos of crime and unruly cities that they interpret as things getting worse because theyβre seeing it more on their phones.
An underrated driver is accounts like WhatIsNewYork that are basically βlook at these weird Black peopleβ that are incentivized by the algorithm to show wilder and wilder shit (and staged videos) that get interpreted by suburbanites as βthe city isnβt safeβ because local news is telling them that.
it says a lot about us, none of it good, that we chose a leader with not a single redeeming quality: stupid? yup. corrupt? absolutely. dishonest? to his core. violent? maybe the most violent ever. any ability to empathize with people? none. baseline level of regard for human life? not even a skosh.
Anyway, my point is that if you're an American citizen traveling on your own, and you think that nationality gives you any real protection, you're on your own. You have much more in common with the person across from you than anyone in charge.
Anyway, can't imagine the current State Department is doing a great job of getting US citizens out of anywhere now, to say nothing of this attack on Iran be incredibly stupid, cruel, and profoundly evil to the people of that country.
I remember having to get out of the West Bank on Oct 7th, calling the State Department, and the person told me to . . . fill out an online form. Also there was a recorded message about how to shelter in place. I didn't hear back from someone until after my Palestinian hosts had already got me out.
I love this account so much.
Same for Evans Pool-pay more staff!
