And that starts with advertising vacancies properly. Be honest about your school to attract the right people and be specific with your requirements. Too many schools are using the same generic adverts for each post.
This is brilliant Cassie! I wish the thinking in this White Paper had been around 20yrs ago, then my girls would not have struggled so much through their education.
There are obv questions about funding, capacity etc, but I took a lot of hope from it.
A good belly laugh whilst I was walking this evening as I was listening to the James Cordon and Ruth Jones book about how they wrote Gavin and Stacey.

World Book Day as Kimberley Evans - author!
Seeing my name on the front cover of actual, real books still amazes me.
Have you got a copy yet?

Wonderful! Cat in the Hat is a classic WBD costume isn't it. I dressed up as that once, felt totally normal at school but then popped home for lunch. Totally forgot I was wearing it when I opened the door to the postman and gave him quite a shock!
This is sooooo wonderful to read!!!
That looks tricky!
This!

It's a bit of a jammed term for 'stuff' isn't it. With Valentine's Mothers Day and Easter also around this time there isn't the prompts in shops or on social media to remind us!
πWhat is your costume?
So great to see this happenening!
The sun did not make an appearance today. It was hidden behind a very thick blanket of cloud and then fog all day.
But there were so many beautiful signs of spring on my walk to bring the positivity.

Awww, thank you!
That is such a powerful thing to say!
The Headteacher Who Sparked It!
βEvery time you visit, you give me something new. Can you not write them all down?β
That single comment planted the seed that became No Silver Bullets.
The new blog revisits that momentβand why it still matters today.

Sending lots of love.
Conscious of tone. I have lots of practical advice, but would you like that or a virtual hug?
London in the sunshine is glorious!
Love this!!
And that's not a bad thing. They realise it's rare to have a job for life and they also don't know what they want to do when they leave school. They want to try things, live a life.
Is some of it that we need to shift our thinking into what our pupils are now aspiring to? The job's market is vastly different to even 10 years ago, they also value their own wellbeing too.
Personally I don't think we should be using the word career, YP don't necessarily aspire to that anymore
There are schools that have TAs in every class, those that pay for midday supervisors, those that have a school mini bus, that have a full pastoral team, that pay for people like me. How do they do it? What do they not do instead?
Conversations without judgement.
I'm not disagreeing that there isn't enough money coming into the pot, it is so hard to make everything budget properly.
However, I do think there would be a benefit of schools and leaders having conversations around, "how do you do it?" with others.
