Where does the word ‘soccer’ come from? While 'soccer' is used to differentiate between two popular sports in America, it originated at a prestigious British university

I did not know this: “Soccer” originated in 19th c. England to differentiate association football (soccer) from rugby football (rugger). Fascinating.
