The absolute farce of #Greenwashing.
Make #F1 cars completely weird to drive and destroy competitive balance in the name of electrification whilst flying dozens of cars and 1000s of people to Australia.

Cool will have a look at that
NEW ANALYSIS: UK emissions fell 2.4% in 2025 as coal fell to a 400-year low. Incredibly, we used less coal last year than than in 1600, when Queen Elizabeth I was on the throne and Shakespeare was writing Hamlet.

Even when the Labour Govt policy is 100% in lockstep with the vast majority of the British public they *still* manage to make themselves look idiotic.

Irony alert.
Important stuff from Aditya @chakrabortty.bsky.social
Interestingly we talk a lot about healthy years differentials in regeneration circles (N & S Cardiff is as bad as his patch) & are clear on the causes. But not much on the overall decline.

New post just out:
"Sovereignty for sale"
The UK is uniquely exposed to the power of US tech monopolies - from Palantir to AI and cloud services.
Why is it so dangerous? What are other countries doing? And what should we do?

π¨ It looks like the UK government is gearing up to upend copyright law in favour of AI companies, legalising the theft of their work.
This is despite creatives' huge protests, and despite previous proposals being roundly rejected by the public.
Please spread the word.

Ah, fond memories of a 16hr DB journey across Germany on the way back from Leipzig. That was supposed to take five.
The cover of The Complete Persepolis by Marianne Satrapi.
Now would be a good time for anyone who wants to learn about recent Iranian history to read this. It is well worth your time and money (I am sure your local library has it if you donβt want to purchase it).
Yeah. Fab world eh?
The Brits were full of nods to Sony's Rob Stringer this weekend, and I'm now reading about him signing Manics in '91.
Now *that's* longevity.

We are At War now, according to President Bush, and I take him at his word. He also says this War might last for "a very long time." Generals and military scholars will tell you that eight or 10 years is actually not such a long time in the span of human history - which is no doubt true - but history also tells us that 10 years of martial law and a wartime economy are going to feel like a Lifetime to people who are in their twenties today. The poor bastards of what will forever be known as Generation Z are doomed to be the first generation of Americans who will grow up with a lower standard of living than their parents enjoyed. That is extremely heavy news, and it will take a while for it to sink in. The 22 babies born in New York City while the World Trade Center burned will never know what they missed. The last half of the 20th century will seem like a wild party for rich kids, compared to what's coming now. The party's over, folks.

Will put it on the list.

My choice for Quote of the Day in @stinej.bsky.social series.
Just bought it there. His book on Edward is the best historical bio I've read.
Same price on Kobo for those who would rather buy from nice Canadians instead of lining the pockets of that slap-head fascist suck-up.
