Eric wasn’t an investigator, but it looked as if the General had, at possibly several different points judging by the distribution of the damage, gone on furniture-destroying rampages in this room; several empty dusty liquor bottles that had rolled into shadowy cobwebbed corners attested to repeated outbursts, one of them rolling along with the sweeping hem of the General’s bathrobe as he ushered them through the door.
