A scarecrow wearing a brown jacket and flat cap, they have a smiley face. They are in a walled garden, set on a crate by some daffodils. Behind we can see blossom blooming and two visitors walking by.

Happiness is sitting in a garden on a sunny day surrounded by flowers.

And not having any allergies.

So good to see the ladybirds back. They seem to be enjoying the sunshine as much as I am!
Yesterday’s tour with the Kew guides was really enjoyable and I am looking forward to our visit there next week. Today’s treat is a visit to Ramster for their regular embroidery exhibition.

We found that:

β€’ One fossil fuel price shock could cost the UK more than the entire additional cost of the transition to Net Zero.

β€’ The benefits of Net Zero far outweigh the costs. For every pound spent on Net Zero, the benefits outweigh this by 2.2 to 4.1 times. ⬇️

Can we spread this single piece of information around a bit, not just on Bluesky. Send a paper printout to your grumpy old 'net zero will make us all poor' Uncle, or Auntie.

First thing: don't come flocking to the Purbecks coast expecting to see these amazing orchids in good numbers just yet. I am local to the area, and finding any this time of year is down to years of accumulated knowledge of where the earliest plants flower - along with appreciation of conducive weather conditions. Wait until around mid-April to see them at their best., when they flower in tens of thousands!

We have seedlings! 😍 this year it feels like such a long wait. With howling wind & rain most days and the ground still sopping wet I'm stuck in winter mode, unable to get outside most days despite the daffs & primroses in flower. #Climatechange is shaping all we do as gardeners now #gardening 🌱

Every time a politician brings this up, journalists need to ask them how much actual cash are they carrying with them right now and when was the last time bought something with cash.

A square collage of nine close-up photographs of spring flowers in soft natural light against blurred green backgrounds. The blooms are mostly yellow and white and include cowslips, several varieties of daffodil and narcissus, a white daisy with a golden centre, a glossy winter aconite bloom with a green ruff, a bright yellow leopard’s bane daisy-like flower, and a starry lesser celandine. The arrangement creates a cheerful patchwork of early spring blossoms.

In Norse mythology the goddess Freya is associated with the return of spring. It is said that as she wanders over the earth shaking her curls, spring flowers flow from her golden tresses and a warm breeze is created by the swishing movement of her green cloak. #LegendaryWednesday

Photo of a mass of daffodil-shaped flowers but the blooms are smaller than classic daffodils. The centers are yellow while the spread petals are a creamy white. Massed together on thin green stems against a backdrop of brown leaf litter and a large gray rock.

Today's blooms are daffodil-like but I'm not sure of the exact kind of flower... narcissus? jonquil? I always get confused πŸ˜‚πŸŒ±

Spring is here! We have one last frost coming next week and then hopefully after that we should be done with winter! The great pollening is already starting too.

How are things looking like where you live? 🌸🌱
