Cargo bike trailer filled with groceries in bags from Trader Joe’s attached to a blue bike next to a red grocery cart. Four bags of groceries are visible with a bag of popcorn, cilantro, two gallons of milk, a 6-pack of beer, and a bouquet of flowers on the top.

I use a cargo trailer (and a kid on the jump seat) and leave it closed up when I go to the next store. Granted, I’m in Novato, which is sleepy, but I’ve never had anything taken (ironically the only thing I’ve had stolen here was a locked car. Grew up in Oakland and also lost cars there).

I teach high school and I’d never thought about it, but I think that’s mostly true based on students, teachers, and my own kids.

This is so cool! I’m in town for my sister’s wedding today and ran past your school (street) and your sign in the back of your cargo bike coming back from Indian creek and the 2nd st stairs. Then saw this reposted by the war on cars. Excellent work. I’ve loved seeing all of the bikes around town!

Um… if we increase new supply so that it matches demand, then demand won’t exceed supply any more! That’s the cool thing about numbers, Dick; They can go up in order to help prices go down!

One political view I have that's probably unpopular but that is definitely correct is that it should be way easier to lose your driver's license. You hit a pedestrian? Lose your license. Run a bunch of red lights? Lose your license. Ignore marked crosswalks? Lose your license.

First playing time for Joe Ingles since Nov. 17th. He logged exactly one second, checked out to high-fives and praise all around.

Agency for students is genuinely good, but these examples are the lowest possible bar. If you want students to develop skills via agency, you do actually have to change the way you teach to one that is student focused and student driven, not just ask rephrased q’s about the same irrelevant info.

It’s the skill set and commitment of the people in education that makes the biggest difference for student outcomes. I’m a fan of teaching science project based and proficiency/skill assessed, but lots of pedagogies will work if the teacher is awesome at them and at working with students.

“School reforms work when they are implemented by good leaders, empowered teachers, and adequately funded administrators. When they aren’t, they don’t.”
