Hey, alongside contacting your representatives, this seems like another thing worth putting a bit of your time into and sharing around. If we could get "reputational risk" taken off the table, even in this current climate, that could create a chilling effect on these kinds of policies

Came across the phrase "cognitive DDOS" to describe our present culture.

Understood instantly what it meant.

The curse of the werewolf does exist, although it is quite different from the mythological concept of a man transforming into a ravenous beast during a full moon, only to hunt his loved ones. No, this curse is even more terrible than that. It lies in the excruciating frustration of fulfilling the deepest and most irrational desire possible: to leave behind the human condition and constraints, to prowl the wild with skilled feet, guided by keen senses, and intimately accompanied by kindred beings. It is more than just the desire to be free, capable, and not alone; it is a primal summons to return to nature, immerse in nature, and become nature. This deep and unattainable desire will accompany the cursed soul for the rest of its long and unsatisfactory life; and no degree of personal achievements, wealth, and even loved ones will take away the pain from this unfulfilled desire. This is my curse.

My grandmother barely made it into her seventies, and by that time Alzheimer’s had already done a LOT of damage. I’m genuinely glad you’re sliding sideways into your eighth decade still all gas no brakes, but not everybody can. Some do need the help.

Ah yes, the CleanKey! I bought one during COVID but I don’t know where it went. Combination door handle toucher, button pusher, touchscreen toucher, and probably several other things. Lovely little piece of kit.

If you want to learn how to program WITH AI, that’s much easier: just go ahead and give up right now, never start. The junior roles for people who’re learning are all handled by seniors backgrounding things with AI now. Learn how to do it with your own neurons or there’s no point bothering.
