Remixing old songs to make them sound better is a lot harder with some of my older music because I want to preserve the way they sounded, and the bad mixing, overcompression, etc. were a part of that sound, so I can't just add instruments, expand width, bump frequencies, etc. Definitely a challenge.

It's funny how after I've listened to a song I'm working on 500 times I nudge the stereo separation knob of an instrument ever so slightly and immediately my brain goes "NO THAT SOUNDS WRONG NOW!" because regardless of if it's good or not, it demands it sounds like the previous 500 listens.
