HUGE tires on this bike with a chromed out frame, flat handlebars and disc brakes. No seat post at all, maybe this person does trials around the city?? 😂

Old fixie/SS with a nice maroon frame, a quill stem, well worn seat, swept back handlebars with bar end brake levers usually used for bullhorns, a basket on the front, a normal spoked wheel on the back, but a 6 spoke nylon wheel on the front.

Crazy looking fixie/SS with a black frame, MKS Gamma platform pedals, high rise mustache handlebars, and a brooks seat so worn it is fully concave. The bandanna around the seatpost is a nice touch.

Wicked fast looking bright orange Leader frame with carbon 3 spoke wheels and pedals with straps. All black components. I wish I could check the guys ratio but I didn't want to be caught rooting around such a pricey bike as a tourist.

Last bike here was at Blue Lug Yoyogi Park

Classy silver frame with white tires and brown saddle and bar tape. I love the shallow drop mustache bars with the hoods pointing forward. The rear fender definitely seems like an afterthought, it was tucked through the tiny rear rack in a strange way.

Stickerbombed tall bike parked outside of the bike shop Geek Garage. The drivetrain was really dirty so I assume this is more for curb appeal than riding but I'd love to see someone take it for a spin.

Gravel commuter with a grey frame, wide WTB tires and a patterned saddle. A big front rack with a milk crate(?) holds a tote bag and there's also a small bag on the down tube that is definitely meant to be on the top tube. The disc brakes and sportier components make me hope this person takes the basket off and tears up some trails every so often!

A gigantic fat tire single speed Crust with wide knobby Panaracer tires, and swept back handlebars with some rise. This thing is a beast. I would've taken it back to Florida with me if I was confident I could ship it back. Next time I'm definitely bringing or buying a box to ship a bike back with me.

Crazy looking mini-velo/bmx(?) bike with all silver parts, a bright purple banana saddle, purple grips on high rise handlebars, a gigantic milk crate front basket. The gravel-ish tires and pegs really make this build unique. This was outside a French cafe near the bike shop Humhumhug in Osaka.

A raw Brooklyn machine works fixed gear bike with an alternating black and silver chain. This seemed to be the bike of one of the employees at Brotures Harujuku.

Green Fat tire Surly with drop bars. Steel is real and fatties fit fine even in Japan!

Cute mini-velo with all silver black and white components. Short bullhorn bars with bar end shifters and retro bent bar brakelevers make for an interesting but probably really intuitive and easy to use cockpit. I'm always shocked at how big the gears get for these mini-velos but I'm pretty sure the gear math makes a lot of sense given the wheel size.

Touring bike with a steel red frame with grey ultradynamico tires, a rear rack, front basket, saddle bag attached to a Brooks saddle. The wide gravel bars have patterned bar tape, and bar end friction shifters.

An aero aluminum Tern frame road bike with bullhorn bars. Strange because I only knew Tern for their e-bikes.

An electric delivery bike with very comfortable step-through upright geometry, a leather seat, large front basket and extremely large cargo trailer on two wheels. Boxes are stacked on the rear rack attaching the trailer.

Custom painted S-works road bikes with a mix of different stripped and psychedelic patterns. Appears to be fully carbon with aero fork and handlebars. This bike was at the Tokyo College of Cycle Design.

Yeah fixed, usually 52x20 for being in the dirt, but I occasionally swap to 52x18 when I put the skinny tires on 😈
