admittedly part of the reason i did this was to show off for my favorite teacher, my US government teacher (also the teachers’ union president).

it is *rich* for any massachusetts legislative bosses to accuse @massauditor.bsky.social of “bullying” for doing the audit voters elected her to do.

legislative leadership has a long history of threatening and bullying reps and constituencies for standing up to the statehouse status quo.

i don’t say this to dispute the reporting—i’m sure witkoff and kushner were and are incompetent buffoons—but let’s not act like this was a serious effort to find common ground

they didn’t want a deal, they wanted war.

this wasn’t just incompetence, it was a bad-faith “negotiation” to build up troops in the area and justify attacking.

i don’t think this framing is quite right. many of the right’s newly-seized elite institutions (eg tech and media companies) are private actors under our current economic order.

this doesn’t make dismantling them any less urgent. it just means the left needs to get comfortable with nationalization
