Yes like I have my favorite media or characters, some things I either related to or in some ways helped me through tough times

BUT at the end of the day a fictional character is not going to love, care & physically BE there for you like a real person can be, & that’s an important side of this too

😩 they never do, for them it’s much easier to start over under a new account and keep being a shitty person

I agree that sharing things with your partner & having mutual interests is important & obviously not being jealous of a fictional character

However if someone starts to heavily neglect their relationship with their partner in favor of such escapism then I can see how it can become a bigger issue

Exactly this!! It takes literally two seconds to acknowledge taking accountability and being willing to do better— and most importantly apologizing.

It just shows a flagrant sense of narcissism too, like I can do no wrong, if someone does anything but those three things.
