Hope Bagot Church, a place of folklore and history
The murderous millstone that holds up the house of God in a Shropshire village
Eyton's Antiquities of Shropshire states that in 1292, a local miller was crushed by his own millstones. The stones were charged for his murder, resulting in them being declared "Deodand"- (given to God) to be "used for pious purpose." They hold up the tower of Hope Bagot church.
