The worst thing about Youtube Shorts is that they pretty much only show recent uploads, disincentivizing creators to do high quality, evergreen videos. One can just hope they won't apply the same criteria to long form videos.

Youtube is now just immediately showing me a Short when I open the app. Horrible stuff. Just give us two different apps at this point, one for Youtube and one for Shorts.
(I'm saying this as both a viewer *and* a creator)

Putting this out for anyone who wants to *get into Youtube*. I guess it does work well with low effort stuff though that doesn't need research, writing, recording footage, voicing and editing.

I'm finding out that you can only do ambitious Youtube stuff when you're both financially stable *and* jobless lol. I have a huge project that would need ~3 weeks *if* I didn't have a job. At the same time I can't afford to take a month off bc even w/ 1mil views, revenue would be below minimum wage
