That's literally a math problem. Each stem is a wave - a function of time. The final mix is just:

Mix(t) = a₁·drums₁(t) + a₂·bass₁(t) + a₃·melody₁(t) + ... + a₁₂·vocals₃(t)

This is the first idea for a mashup that might actually work.

Each track has 4 stems (drums, bassline, melody, vocals) and there are three tracks. We have 12 stems we could join, at perfect time and, in theory, could get something that doesn't sound like absolute crap.

The star of the mashup, tune "Poljubljena", sits most of the time in G minor, but jumps to F major quite frequently. If we brutally simplify the theory of harmonic mixing, this is the matrix your kids, as future musicians, who won't ever need math, need to follow.
