Ben did some really good and honest coverage of the MPOX outbreak in the early days, when few other journalists were paying attention. Seeing him devolve into a tool of the anti-trans movement is sad and disappointing.
No idea! The poll started asking questions about how to βstrengthen democracyβ in very vague and confusing ways, then pivoted to asking about ID requirements.
Just got a text message opinion poll on a ballot initiative to establish voter ID requirements in California.
Pacific Beach has seen two hit-and-run traffic deaths in the span of three weeks.
CHAD MICHAELS !!!!!!!!!!
The bike counters on 30th Street logged maybe 1% of the San Diego cyclists who rode in memory of Alex Pretti today.

Cannot emphasize enough how these humble little lanes have transformed my relationship to the neighborhood for the better. I explore the neighborhood so much more, I visit businesses more often because itβs that much easier to get there quickly, I commute by bike more often because it feels safer.
San Diego installed bike lanes on a busy commercial street in North Park in 2021. Ridership jumped 67% the next year.
Now, 4 years later, bike and scooter trips on 30th Street have hit another record high. Foot traffic and business activity is also booming. www.kpbs.org/news/quality...

The Times went to non urban Minnesota to ask people why they dislike urban Minneapolis. If someone were to ask me to teach a journalism school course on helicopter reporting, this story - so cliche itβs almost hard to believe they really did this - would immediately go on the syllabus.
The full spiked 60 Minutes CECOT package, clean & subtitled. 1/5
BTW. While we're making a big deal about the censored 60 minutes report, worth noting the PBS Frontline report on CECOT is online and can be watched free. Trump *tried* to destroy PBS as he did 60 minutes, & did manage to kill the 58-year-old CPB, but PBS so far survives. www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontli...
really cannot be emphasized enough that bari weiss has literally never done journalism. i donβt mean that in the pejorative sense. i mean that in the βhas never performed the job she was hired to doβ sense
Iβm pretty sure free replacement bins are built into the new system!
Incredible work by San Diegoβs Department of Environmental Services. No notes.

Interesting, thanks for correcting the record!
Sorry I'm 2 years late to this!!! Listen to this interview with Hasan Ikhrata, the head of San Diego's regional transportation agency.
This is what transportation leadership in the public sector sounds like!!

Thanks for listening!!
Smoking rates seem relatively high in the Netherlands, I have to assume that counteracts the health benefits from cycling to some extent.
An astonishing percentage of Americans are open to car-free living.
The problem isn't attitudes. The problem is the failure to invest in viable options.

San Diego Unifiedβs board will tonight vote on the largest slate of education workforce housing projects ever considered in California. Some are pushing them to ignore a staff recommendation and go even bigger. Tonight, they might vote to do just that.
