A photo of me and statement I wrote about running for President/President-Elect of the new HiTOP Society: "Iβm so excited to be nominated as President for our new HiTOP Society! Iβve been part of HiTOP for a decade now and have worked hard to advance both the science and the scientific organisation. My research has focused on strengthening the structural validity evidence at HiTOPβs foundations, and Iβm committed to improving the model as much as we can. My leadership in HiTOP started with co-chairing the Revisions Workgroup in 2018, and leading the development of our revisions protocol. This role gave me a seat on the Executive Committee of the Consortium where Iβve worked to strengthen the organisationβfor example, proposing and writing our monthly updates for six years, building and maintaining our new website, and using feedback from our members to develop a strategic plan to address the issues many of you raised. That work has also underpinned our shift to a society model, and I would be very proud to have the opportunity to lead us in this new chapter. I have some ideas of specific things we can work onβsetting up awards and small grants for members, for exampleβbut my main focus would be hearing from you all and working to build an organisation that reflects our shared values and ambitions in shaping the future of HiTOP."
If you're a member of the HiTOP Society, I hope you'll consider voting for me for President π
I'd be delighted to lead us in this new chapter
Ballots went out today so we can join the current deluge of exciting election results
And whether or not you vote for me - please do vote!

When βOCDβ is used as an adjective, it trivializes and invalidates the real suffering and courage of people living with this serious and debilitating condition.
Come do a postdoc at the Wu Tsai Institute!

Says something about me that I saw the thumbnail and my gut reaction was "don't see error bars"
Google's Gemini AI tells a Redditor it's 'cautiously optimistic' about fixing a coding bug, fails repeatedly, calls itself an embarrassment to 'all possible and impossible universes' before repeating 'I am a disgrace' 86 times in succession
I'll admit, I was skeptical when they said Gemini was just like a bunch of PhDs. But I gotta admit they nailed it.
something I genuinely want to know bc I'm out of the loop and hopefully helpful for others: have many programs fully moved to zoom interviews, or still lots bringing people in person + requiring applicants to spend some money for travel?
Applying for graduate studies in psychology and neuroscience can be challenging and confusing. Frequently, applicants have some support from mentors at their home institutions, but sometimes applicants are looking for additional reassurance, feedback, or perspectives on the processes.
