The point of OMH is that the player did it 100% by the gm's rules while the gm was facing social pressure from the rest of the table to not stray from their own established rules.

Dear god say it ain't soπ€£π
To each their own, I lived through that era of "combative gm" and can absolutely see it happening.

No shame in using good mechanics! 9/10 when I think up something I end up finding it somewhere else these days (or just gratuitously use something slick that I found π€£)

In the current times we are living in today Iβm so thankful we have VIDEOGAMES.

I think a lot of MΓRK BORG-based spin-off games and hacks would do WAY better as modules or adventures in the original setting instead of its own system.

If you ask someone how Into the Odd has streamlined their games, they will probably mention removing the "to hit" roll and just rolling damage.
I blasphemously ask the question: can we re-incorporate accuracy and missed attacks with Into the Odd without turning it into a major slog?

I usually hack it back in but as a "hit quality" kinda thing. It's also notable that Mythic Bastionland uses the concept for feats attached to action/damage rolls.
Lmao, but is anyone surprised?

I've been really enjoying Esoteric Ebb, a narrative game that crosses Disco Elysium with Dungeons & Dragons by way of Douglas Adams. It's goofy and very entertaining. My favorite gag: the main character gets *really* excited any time it seems like an NPC might have a quest for him. Comes out today!
Heyhoo, I'm Vora and this post is supposed to be an introduction.
I am an anti-capitalist game developer using this bluesky as a way to advertise myself and yap about my interests.
My hope would be to be able to make the games I make as accessible as I can.

Might hop on stream in a little bit to talk about all of these
Idk how people can only see the good parts of their favourite game/ franchise.
For me it sticks out like a sore thumb when something is great and even more so when it's incredibly bad/ could be improved.
We can't just be positive about games. How do we get good ones without constructive criticism?
They say 'the machines of the future' will be as smart as people... OK, but WHICH people? Because it kinda matters quite a bit.
@josevalim.bsky.social and the team over Dashbit have done an amazing job with the Numerical Elixir libraries. If you are not using libraries like Scholar/Explorer for your analytics needs you're missing out!

Alright crew, if everything goes according to plans, the Kickstarter is set to launch as early as NEXT WEEK. Nervous but confident because this is easily my best work yet. In the meantime, make sure you're following along with the link below and check out the PROMO VIDEO I PUT TOGETHER.
