Good morning fellow #ADHD peeps, here's hoping you are able to find a bit o joy somewhere in the day.
@deamonmist
I play medieval games and share clips online and ponder on what life may have been like back then. I've got a two degrees in Medieval Literature and find modern games about the time can bring my imagination to life. I'm also a big advocate for #ADHD.
Good morning fellow #ADHD peeps, here's hoping you are able to find a bit o joy somewhere in the day.
Box in a box is a classic!
I think for sure that's a great entry point for the conversation.
Does anyone else with #ADHD feel completely hollow after accomplishing something? Or feel concerned when you are happy because you know it's going to use up all of your good energy?
Here is a good place to start! bsky.app/profile/did:...
That is mind blowing. It's so easy for people with #ADHD to become isolated, and not realize that there are so many of us everywhere.
What a great snap!
It is important to remember how many of us have #ADHD. 6% of Adults at least. We are everywhere, cooking your food, building your homes, running your hospitals, designing your electronics. Don't let anyone make you feel lesser for your disorder; least of all yourself.
Hey there! It could absolutely be an #ADHD thing; stimulants can relax and calm us, giving us the mental quietude to actually rest. I find a cup of coffee and a twenty minute nap makes for a great combo.
The irony is palpable! :)
Hello! Welcome to Bluesky; the #ADHD community is just starting to grow here, but it's getting there! I have a list put together as a way to get started: bsky.app/profile/did:...
The ability to provide total silence as needed is critical. That most often means noise cancelling headphones and working with managers to have either fixed focus times, or an agreement to request focus time as needed without a hassle. Probably the most important thing is understanding and respect.
Hello my fellow #ADHD friends and colleagues! I'm happy to announce the beginning of a new list of ADHD, #AudHD, and other #ND supporters, experts, and content creators. We want to build a great community here, and this is an important first step! bsky.app/profile/did:...
Way to be it!
Don't even get me started on this ridiculous situation. The shortages have been ongoing for over two years! I hope someone figures it out quick because we are virtually powerless to influence the situation. #ADHD
Hello and welcome! I'm in the process of doing just that, always looking for help!
Being a #peoplepleaser often comes with having #ADHD; it's interesting how far we'll go to please others but when it's time to take care of ourselves our reserves are low. Have any of you been able to overcome this?
THIS time I'll remember
Medieval literature and history
Blacksmithing
Leather-working
Raising chickens
Woodworking
Lock-picking
Programming
Arduino/Raspberry Pi
Drawing
DND & other TTRPGs
Reading
Building PCs
Cooking
Sometimes at night I think what would it be like to be a #medieval peasant? I'd get into my straw bed filled with bugs, children, my wife, and possibly an animal or two. The hearth would be keep us warm for a while. In the morning cold we watch the noblemen on their horses ride by without a care.
There is no place we won't leave what is in our hands.
The waiting is agony!
We can't be anything other than ourselves. Also, maybe consider Dwarf Fortress? Hang in there!
I hate that feeling. Hope you got a bite to eat!
My shoes would have been repaired more times than I could count, and I'd have to pay the tax men whenever they felt like some coin. The nobles would have new shoes, and would almost never pay any taxes. My friends and I would joke about burning the debt books; until one day it's not a joke anymore.๐ฅ
Sometimes on a slow Monday afternoon I think what it would be like to be a peasant in #medieval Europe. Perhaps I'd have had enough small beer by now to be moderately tipsy though my tolerance would be legendary. I'd likely be thinking about a finer meal while looking up at the Manor house.
Good luck!
That is exhausting. Living in the moment in perpetuity is brutal.
Thanks for taking the time to help me understand.
I've been lucky enough to guide a decent number of folks through understanding that they likely have ADHD, getting help, and getting medicated. It's the first thing I warn them about: that great feeling is internal; you have to balance it with a little extra caution.
