Ha oh no - not the ending I expected to that story! π«£
I know - the shock of it being so long ago!

An old colour picture postcard showing a half-timbered manor house, three stories plus attic rooms, with ivy, slate roofs, white stucco and black beams, set in verdant countryside. It is a very appealing image
Here's a #HigherEducationPostcard of Gregynog Hall
Gifted to the University of Wales in 1960, Gregynog hosts conferences, often academic, and will I suspect be known to many UK academics
If you like this image, please retweet it - remember, BlueSky has #NoAlgorithm
Thanks to @emmaraczka.bsky.social we now know that this parade was walking up Station Terrace, and my guess is then turning right to go to what is now the rugby club, but back then might well have been playing fields
So probably St David's College v Cardiff Uni, but what year?
Ha brilliant - love a displacement activity!
How cool - top skills!
Sunday school is around where the comp school pitches are. Fairly sure there were also pitches further up from St Peterβs church? Also, the uni used to have an all-weather hockey pitch. Donβt know if that area would have been big enough for rugby?
The rugby club is not far from
Station Terrace, cut off that map - donβt know if that was playing fields back then?
If you have a look at the other photo posted, itβs basically turn right at the end of that street (where you see the white building) so v close!
Itβs not far from the sawmills where my Polish grandad used to work.
Hereβs the street!
Great to be here! I came across and old twitter person and decided it was time to see if more of the old gang were around! π
The hats - theyβre interesting?
I can ask my friendβs dad who is a local historian, but I did wonder if it was rugby-related!
The street is station terrace rather than college street - I think the university had some properties there until recently too?
Oh hello!π
So has anyone actually ever done a mashup of The Smithsβ Girlfriend In a Coma + KC And The Sunshine Bandβs Give It Up?

Iβm not sure whatβs worse:
That Puma thought it was a good idea to shoehorn some odd lyrics about running into a comedy pothead anthem; or that they completely disregarded the apostrophe.

Important article about the very real impact on victims. So much digital naivety from the authorities and those responsible.

Also - donβt know if itβs helpful, but Medr - the tertiary funder and regulator in Wales - released a statement last week about HE finances. Thanks again!
