When I give talks about the exploitation of GLAM by the AI industry I’m always asked “how can we defend ourselves from bots scraping our metadata?” I have no idea. That’s a question for an engineer. What I can and do say is that we shouldn’t be supporting this industry in the first place.
It IS funny though that he is imagined as someone who has to be impossibly handsome and alluringly charismatic.

It’s not embarrassing! Or at least I don’t think it ought to be; I hope people will always reach out and say how they’re feeling in situations like this. It’s a really difficult thing, but keeping it to yourself is worse. I hope you have a better day going forward!
