Just found an extension for Firefox called "Bluesky Repost Hider". It lets you hide reposts from individual users. A missing feature. DRAMATICALLY improves my Bluesky experience. For the record I completely respect what other people repost (and don't ever change!) but some things just ain't for me.

βChoice. The solution is choice.β*
You should download Firefox 148 (released today!) and explicitly set the new "AI Controls" to your preferred choice.

Disclosure: I work for Mozilla, but this post, like all on this site, represents my personal thoughts and opinions [β¦]
I just launched the RetractionRisk Scanner browser extension! π With just one click, instantly check if a paper has flagged issues or retraction risks while reading. Available now on Chrome & Firefox. Try it out! π www.retractionrisk.com/plugin.html
It is also available in the Android version. I am a big fan of the icon choices - it is a bit of fun and a great way to freshen up a mobile home screen.

TabCloser v4.2.0 is out!
Fixes Slack /admin/* pages (settings, billing, etc.) so that theyβll no longer close.
Improves pending tab closures, which should now properly cancel if a tab redirects/navigates away
Live for Firefox, but Chrome/Edge/Safari may take a few days.
AI with an actual off switch just dropped in @firefox.com 148.
You get to choose:
β Which AI features you want
β Or turn it all off entirely
While other browsers decide for you, we're giving you the controls.
Your browser, your rules.

Turns out the "forced integrated generative AI" in FireFox is, drum roll.... optional.
I don't think I'm going to get too crazy about options I don't like, if I can turn it off then I don't see the issue. When it's forced is when one should worry.
My first Firefox extension got its first 5-star rating and its first comment.

Hi. What add-ons do you have installed in Firefox? One of them may be causing this to happen.
#fxhelp
Okay. We should be able to help with that. Please can you raise a support request at support.mozilla.org/en-US/questi.... Please can you include the full submitted crash ID that can be found at about:crashes (they should have a bp- prefix).
Hiya. What seems to be the problem? How can I help?

I'm sure people will get mad anyway.

Really excited to see what will be coming out in 2026. Really looking forward an ethical and open solution for AI based tools instead of having to rely on what Big Tech will dictate.
From #StateofMozilla, weβre putting 80% of our spending in 2026 towards continued, substantial investment in core products like Firefox and Thunderbird.
