From 250 staff at nDreams in 2023 as "the world’s biggest VR game developer and publisher" to 120 after this restructure.

Wincing here for multiple reasons.
1.) 120 might still make nDreams the largest VR game developer and publisher in the world.
2.) That’s still probably 5x or more the studio size that even the highest selling VR games could support right now. Many VR teams are still less than 5.
Welcome back as we continue with our new VR headset series. Following up, "everything the Quest 3 does wrong," we now have everything the Quest 3 does RIGHT. I'm sure there are a few surprises for you in here!

Are they for real????
Resolution, PPD, and PPI aren’t the same things, but I’d be lying through my teeth if I didn’t acknowledge that how they’re different is very fuzzy for me
The demo for Alliance Tales: Battles for the Frontier wants to scratch that X-Wing/Wing Commander itch.

I just filed an article to Upload analyzing the headset numbers on the latest Steam hardware survey and why we all need to ignore it this month.
Short answer: Chinese New Year.
Nothing to see here. Stop writing your latest “(PC)VR is dead” article. Check back next month. 😊
Pico is offering $ to experienced VR users to sign an NDA and report bugs in their upcoming headset. open.substack.com/pub/goodvr/p...
I only have so many kidneys and lobes of my liver I can sell… 👀
Pico's next headset will have 4K micro-OLED displays, a new chipset twice as powerful as the XR2 Gen 2, and a next-generation OS with visionOS-like features:

This is where you would see surprise if I was surprised

A good first month for Good Virtual Reality.
Please consider becoming a paid subscriber to support my work. I am producing independently for the first time in my life supported by individuals allowing me to do this:

The system ISN’T broken. It’s working as indented. Protect and empower the rich and powerful to do whatever they want at the expense of those with less or no money and agency.
Crime isn’t crime when you have this much money and power, it’s just cost of doing business
The real scary part for me is how conspiracy WASN’T needed. Is there conspiracy in TRUMP-Epstein Files? Of course there is. But if you pull back the parts that are conspiracy, EVERYTHING else isn’t a Deep State or Lizard People, it’s our “Systems” working as they should
Real
You mean something “shiny” that’s meant to distract us from the fact that President “Bone Spurs” is mentioned HEAVILY in the Epstein files?
But who cares if a lot innocent men, women, and children and service men and women pay the ultimate sacrifice if it distracts from what he did to children 👀
Carter Burke from Alien = Sam Altman ? Photos showing them looking nearly identical.
This meme I made a while ago seems apropos tonight:
I have no idea how I feel about this, but regardless, I think you might be right
Graphics depicting Meta's upcoming ultralight headset with a tethered compute puck, codenamed Phoenix, have been found in Quest firmware:
I didn’t know you could play PCVR games without making your PC cry… I… I didn’t know… 🥹🥹🥹
It’s cool that this is available at all, even flatscreen, but this really would great use case for VR education and training
There’s a new game on Steam that lets you build and manage your own actual data center.
Honestly, it’s kind of genius. It takes something pretty complex and makes it way more approachable and fun while lowkey teaching people about infrastructure and emerging tech at the same time.
1) A Link to the Past
2) Twilight Princess
3) The Legend of Zelda
My wife and I have completely quit going to movie theaters
COVID made us realize that there wasn’t anything really more fun about going to theaters
I’m gonna nope right outta that right now. The catacombs of Skyrim already hit my redline for VR fear factor
The weapon that destroyed the 80 years of progress in a decade
So we have some unexpectedly good vr news to go over plus we're discussing the past, present and future of the PSVR2.

I've previously discussed Table Troopers and it's honestly some of the most FUN, 0 stress PVP I've played in years. It's the classic Worms Style combat with physics based destruction, just the right amount of RNG and strategy plus it's only $6.99
