Women have always been the FOREFRONT of protest in Korea: Yoo Gwan Soon, stroller-pushing mothers in 2008, Ewha Women's Uni in 2016??

Black Earth — THE BITTER SOUTHERNER
In North Carolina, a Black farmer purchased the plantation where his ancestors were enslaved— and is reclaiming his family’s story, his community’s health, and the soil beneath his feet.
A must-read: Patrick Chandler Brown — named after the PCB chemicals dumped in his community — purchased the plantation where his great-grandfather was enslaved and is in the process of transforming it to serve farmers like him

When I talk about how Korea has a special place in its heart for political protest... I really do think it's different from the US where you get taught about MLK etc. Like, this is one of Korea's national heroes: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Jung...

My cousin's husband, Abu Shadi, was renowned as one of the most famous kunafa sellers in Gaza. His kunafa was not only delicious and authentic but also affordable. He fondly referred to his kunafa as "the Poor's Kunafa.", He was killed along with my cousin, their children, and grandchildren.

Netanyahu: Gaza war will be ‘long and difficult’ as Israel pummels enclave
Israeli ground troops battle Hamas fighters in Gaza as Israel carries out heaviest air raids and cuts communications.
Across the occupied West Bank, at least 105 Palestinians have been killed since Oct 7, and another 1,550 arrested in a crackdown by Israeli forces. Palestinian towns have been cut off from one another through Israeli closures and the threat of settler attacks, resulting in a commercial standstill.

Netanyahu’s Government Is Trying to Suspend the Freedom of Information
A proposed law would prevent journalists and the Israeli public from seeing how the government is managing one of the worst crises in the country’s history.
'Police officers broke into a man’s apartment in Jerusalem and arrested him for hanging a sign against the occupation from his living room. A venue owner in Haifa canceled an event for Jews and Arabs that called to stop the war and return the hostages after getting a warning from the police.'
