Surprisingly, I can't complain about the start of this year. It's been an incredible January in almost every way, especially in a personal sense. My only goal is to be a better version of myself every day.

If you defend a person like Maduro, who violated the rights of workers, LGBTQ+ people, and human rights in general, replacing the economic elite but without touching the prevailing capitalist model, I'm afraid you're being inconsistent with your ideals.
btw regardless of how horrific the US action was, here's a reminder that you can't call yourself left-wing if you defend a militaristic and conservative dictator like Maduro. You can be anti-imperialist and anti-Maduro, but it's inconsistent if you defend his government.
The real question will be what role the old guard of Chavismo will play and whether the new leadership headed by Delcy will be willing to cede power in hypothetical new elections.
So... in retrospect, there was a rupture in the leadership that facilitated Maduro's capture. Now we have a "provisional government" that seeks to maintain the same rhetoric to retain control while, in the future, it can call for reforms that might lead to a transition.
