Running some test prints for a breast plate (3/4 of one, anyway) on the Centauri Carbon with every scrap of filament I had left to make sure it fit and that the alignment pins do their job keeping seams straight. Man I’m loving this machine.

It’s just so…round!

Everything is as done as I can make it for now. Glue has to cure over night, but tomorrow I get to fully kit up for the first time 🤞

They’re not the most flattering pictures in the world, but they let me see almost everything together for the first time.

But like, this is almost a real thing! Knees and shins are still in the works, and some soft parts weathering to go.

My Mando punch list can finally fit on one page now. What do you think the odds are I can get it all done and ready to wear this weekend?

Sometimes I play with leather, too! Mostly finished up the belt rig for my Mando kit. Just have to print a couple more cartridges and get them sanded and painted.

Meanwhile, armor plates still need some more coats of color. (Also had to trim a good inch off the bottom plate because apparently I can not read 🫣)

I could keep going, but I think I’m going to stop here for now, except for some weathering. I do wish I had added a few greebles to the binocs before paint, but maybe later. For now, I got other pieces to finish.

Confession time: I’m scared to clear coat it. With all these layers of paint, even as the same brand, if it wrinkles under the clear I’m starting over. I already had some pull up with the tape.

It looks better than I hoped, and I really can’t stomach the thought of starting over.

I hate trying to mask things off for red paint. Red paint is like a tenn with a fake ID. Always getting into places it shouldn’t
