The second has the troll angrily yelling, "Fo' da last time I'm undead! Not a Zandalari!" Offscreen the elf responds, "that's not an improvement."
My poor pally in Silvermoon. For context, he's technically an ex-death knight Darkspear that died (again) and was raised by the Light as an undead paladin. Everyone just assumes he's a Zandalari due to the glowing eyes and paladin status. No real spoilers here.

Ungh the worst part of finishing up a chapter is that I need a few days to forget what I wrote so when I go back and beta read it I actually notice the parts that need fixing, rather than just eye-glazing through it.
This is why you need a beta reader as invested in the story as much as you are.

fwiw, historically, times of progress are often met w/ extremist pushbacks before progressive change truly takes hold. saw this with reconstruction > jim crow > civil rights, w/ labor movements, w/ the waves of feminism that come and go. we will see a better future. we will make it.
Legit question for any readers out there: Do you prefer really long chapters in a fic or shorter ones to break things up? I know I personally don't like super short and numerous chapters unless they serve a very specific purpose, but I'm curious what others think.

All this Discord...discourse...has me thinking about what is a viable platform for artists anymore. Yes I realize the old faithful 'build your own site' is there, but in terms of outreach? Is there a platform people prefer? Patreon? Kofi? Bsky? IG? Cara? There are so many it's overwhelming.
